They built a beautiful home.  The craftsmanship is top notch and we love the layout.  Whenever we had questions or changes during construction, they were very responsive.  Even after closing, they remain very responsive to all of our questions. The closing was smooth, anything we identified that needed attention was done on time and with great professionalism. Mr. Clayton Hughes who was my primary contact and initially came with his partner to see if we have anything that needed their attention and anything we identified, simply things like how to change the filters and anything else in the house that we needed attention in the house was done with great care by Mr. Clayton Hughes and his team to our satisfaction. “We did a full home renovation and addition with New Urban Homes and they were fantastic every step of the way. We chose them because they came recommended by several neighbors, their proposal was the most detailed, they offered solutions and vendors that helped us save money, and worked easily with the outside vendors we brought in for design. “Great experience with New Urban Homes. Clayton and Christian came highly recommended from several different sources that have had positive experiences with them. Friends, neighbors, and our realtor to name a few folks. We hired New Urban Homes to do a second floor bump out over our garage in order to add an additional bedroom, turn a walk-in-closet in an existing bedroom into a guest bathroom, and open up our kitchen space that included knocking down a retaining wall. Clayton and Christian were very good and transparent in their communication with us throughout the process from planning through execution and close out. When we went over the cost quote they broke out the costs for the different phases which we appreciated. What I really appreciated was their thought out planning, especially with county inspections and having mitigations in place for things that could be discovered during demo. Ultimately they said the project would take 4 months and they delivered great work on schedule and within our cost conscious budget which we're forever grateful for.”

“C Hughes Contractors just finished an addition on our Arlington home, nearly doubling the size of our 1941 colonial, and my wife and I could not be happier with the work that Clayton and Christian did. With so many horror stories about contractors, they were the exact opposite! Their organization and communication from beginning to end, quality of the work, attention to detail, design advice, reasonable cost, and their flexibility/care that allowed us to stay in the house throughout the process all contributed to the success of the project. The subcontractors they used were top drawer and very conscientious, as well. And if that weren't enough, Christian and Clayton are super nice guys, and finished the project early while staying on budget!! Highly recommend, no reservations whatsoever!”

“A realtor, who I trust, recommended Clayton & Christian Hughes at New Urban Homes because he had multiple great experiences with them. I had a spectacular experience! They created a mother-in-law suite for me. It included a bedroom with walk-in closet, family room and kitchen. Additionally, I had them design two custom pieces of furniture to include a coat cubby and entertainment center the size of one entire wall in the suite.
They offer a full line of services from design ideas, design renderings, and a completed project per specs and within budget.
They are professional, experienced, and easy to work with which makes the project more enjoyable.
I was so satisfied that I invited them back to work on a custom designed office and gorgeous dry bar with custom features.
New Urban Homes should always be among your project bids but I assure you, you would be foolish not to choose them. I promise, on your second project, you will simply go straight to them!”

“Christian and Clayton were wonderful to work with. They were extremely responsive and did incredible work. I especially appreciated how any time we hit a snag (not their fault, just an old house) they both met me on site to discuss options. We had both our kitchen and our basement gutted and redone, to include new flooring (LVP and hardwood), basement waterproofing, chimney repairs, and floor and wall repair/repaint/refinish throughout the house. Since completion of the project, they have also gotten back to me ASAP to address any questions or concerns I had. (For example, the first time we needed our heat this winter, our boiler wasn't kicking on. We had had C. Hughes remove two radiators in the spring, so I let them know the issue in case it was related. Both Clayton and Christian were at my house within a few hours checking it out. They reset the sensors, and it was working again by the evening. No problems since.) I would absolutely recommend C. Hughes Contractors and would hire them again in a heartbeat.”

They also suggested we add cabinets in an additional area of our kitchen that we had never considered in our initial plans—the end result is our favorite part of the kitchen now and their idea maximized our small space. “I have built and remodeled several homes myself but age is catching up with me so I used C Hughes Contractors to help with some aspects of my current project that were too much for me to handle alone. Owned by 2 brothers, Clayton and Christian, I dealt with both. They have become my go-to folks for any time I need some contracting services as I move along on my project. (I am completely gutting and remodeling a 1930s Sears Craftsman kit house with a couple of large additions as part of the project so this is not a small endeavor.) First, it was very nice dealing with a smaller business and the points of contact are the owners. They were responsive and personally visited my project to inspect the work each time I brought them in to help. Next, they oversaw the work of their crew and regularly checked up on them. And, most important, they do a top notch, high quality job. I am not a fan of contractors or projects that are simply””putting lipstick on a pig” projects. The unseen part of the process is just as important as the aesthetics . Our current home is 90 years old and anything I build or have anyone help me build must be done with the aim that it too will last 90+ years. Clayton, Christian and the crew at C Hughes Contractors does that without me hounding them about it. I price and quality shop everything we buy but if a catastrophe struck and I had to rebuild my house from scratch, I would have these guys do it. I hate writing reviews and rarely boast about folks I do business with because so many are looking out for their bottom line but Clayton and Christian seem to know that without quality workmanship at a price that’s fair will go a long way to keeping customers for years.”

“C. Hughes Contractors did an excellent job remodeling our entire home. We purchased our home in December 2020. Clayton provided a written estimate with very accurate labor and material costs. We began our renovation in February 2021 and they completed the work on time for our scheduled move in April 30, 2021. C. Hughes Contractors were very considerate and always on time. They kept the site very clean and safe while working. We had a complete renovation of the kitchen, two ensuite bathrooms and the basement. The whole house was repainted in the interior. All the floors were refinished and we added windows, ethernet throughout the house and moved walls and insulated and replaced drywall in several rooms. We highly recommend C. Hughes Contractors. We have another big project we hope to do and will definitely use C. Hughes Contractors in the future.”

The project took several weeks by a series of excellent workers with the different required skills. The project resulted in a greatly improved facility and was finished on time and under budget.
